Tears in Heaven

“Would you hold my hand? If I saw you in heaven”. That words sound really deep. For a father who just lost his son. That was a piece of lyrics from a song called ‘Tears in Heaven’. It was a mega hit in the 90s. not just because the lyrics and the feel. But also because the story.
The story of the song was about Eric’s son, Conor Clapton. He fell out from a building in New York where he lived with his mother.  Clapton wrote this with Will Jennings, who has written many famous songs from movies, including "Up Where We Belong" from An Officer And A Gentleman and "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic. Jennings wrote the lyrics to many of Steve Winwood's hits and has also written with B.B. King, Roy Orbison, The Crusaders, Peter Wolf and many others.
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?

I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.

Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?

I'll find my way
Through night and day,
'Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven.

Time can bring you down,
Time can bend your knees.
Time can break your heart,
Have you begging please, begging please.

Beyond the door,
There's peace I'm sure,
And I know there'll be no more
Tears in heaven.

Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?

I must be strong
And carry on,
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven.
The song has a really deep meaning. Literally it is all about a man who seeks for “Heaven” in his hard time. From the lyrics “Time can bring you down,Time can bend your knees.Time can break your heart,Have you begging please, begging please.” We can feel a lot of feelings in that lyrics. And if you listen closely into that part, Clapton did some kind of high pitch and after that a guitar solo. The meaning of the song Is actually only a man who tried to find peace and heaven after a series of things he just experienced.
The song was written by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings. Clapton sang it for a film soundtrack. We can feel some moral value in it. Such as a man can be vulnerable if a part of his life is gone. And we can still learn that after everything that took us down, we always have something to get up again.

Dewa Athena Experience

My Class
Two weeks ago, my school held an event called Dewa Athena. It is some kind of annual sport event for students to compete representing their classes. There are more than 6 sports to be held. They are :
1.       Volleyball
2.       Futsal ( Men )
3.       Futsal ( Women )
4.       Baskeyball
5.       Estafet
6.       Gobak Sodor
7.       Dodgeball ( Men )
8.       Dodgeball ( Women )
9.       Tarik Tambang
10.   Badminton ( Men )
11.   Badminton ( Women )
12.   Chess
But my favorite is still futsal.
Dewa Athena was held on 10-12 march of 2016. And still continues from 31 to 2 apriil. The location that was used for the event was The Lapangan  Bali, the main place for 3 Students’ sports need. Before the event was held, there was An Open Recruitment for students to be the organizer of the event.
The first day of the competition begins with the opening. There was a marathon-not really a marathon because I only circle ‘mini Indonesia’- after that, there was a welcome speech from ‘Ketua Osis’ and ‘Ketua Pelaksana’. After that, there is some kind of briefing for the competitor and the contestans. The first match I watched was the Female Double from my class. It was represented by Namira and Adisya. And fortunately my class won that match. After that there is a match for Gobak Sodor.
The only sport I compete in was Tarik Tambang. It was my most passionate and the only sport I can do on Dewa Athena. So, I competed hardy and with good strength finally my class won the first match against X7 class.
So, the second day began. As planned, my class will play the futsal for the girls. And they won again. That’s so cool. And yes, I am also competing in the second day of the Tarik Tambang match. Even though I was not feeling quite well, but my class finally could win against the X2 class. Man, it was a really really tiring match, but with spirit and love, my class can win for the second time in this sport.
Unfortunately, on the Third Day. I didn’t feel quite well because of that tiring and bone-wrecking match against X2, so I decided not to compete in the Third Day of the Dewa Athena Sport Championship.
I think that was all for my report to Dewa Athena Sport Championship. The only thing I really remember about the last competition is not about the winning and tiring part. It is abour to keep pushing and keep standing after get beaten up by stronger enemy.  So, before saying goodbye, I got a really nice quote to share with you. “It’s not about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit, and still moving” – Rocky Balboa.

Is Education really that Important?

In the recent decades. The world is changing really quick. From the Industrial Revolution of England until now the revolution of Information. People are now really care about changes. People are now really sensitive about their surrounding. Wheter it is their appearance, their environtment, or even their culture. Changes are now somehow has become a part of everyday’s life. Time changes, so are people.
In present day, with the change in global scale, problems are not just in the hand of certain people. It has become everyone’s problem. Since it is everyone’s problem we must see and act differently to take care of those problems. One of the most horrifying problems we all face now is about global warming. Globalization not only make Informations become globally known, but also make weather become irregularly ‘sick’. The main reason why that problem appeared to the surface is now people tend to don’t care of their environment and littering is now not a really big deal for our society.
In Indonesia itself, environment problems are caused by the ignorance of the people themselves. Parents are somehow feel don’t care about their children for that problem. That is just one of the main problems Indonesia and the world feel right now.
The main reason We still feel insecure about our surrounding is our mindset about problems. We think that problem is  a virus inside ourselves. The way we think mostly influenced by our childhood, it was the times were our brain hasn’t shaped perfectly and still in the phase of learning. Process of learning should make us think critically, but the fact is that we srill think to reach goal as the only objective. But actually the best part of a goal is the jouney it gave us the grit, hard time, but the most important thing is the experience.
The root of education is to create problem solvers who care about their surrounding. But in Indonesia education is now just a tool to gain personal gain. Education should have been the tools for a country to create better generations to come.
I think that we should fix the system of education to replace it to its root, to create better people. Not only to gain scores and in the same time they don’t care about their friends. We must create a better education system not just to fix 3 or 4 years ahead, but to create better human in their entire life for goods.
I have a vision that someday, teacher will not be just ‘teacher’, teacher should become figure of life, figure of wisdom, not just a figure student deserve to get scores, grades, not by struggling but by cheating. Student now only care about grades, why? Becaue they think that getting grades is the only purpose of school, education. The real pupose of education is not that kind of thing.
The solution is not to recreate all the ‘mainframe’, the simplest solution is to give new generation fresh air by creating new doctrins, to create the thinking process as the mainsolution to today’s problems. By doing this, I hope in the next 5 or 10 years, our education system will be renewed and will become more useful for our life.
It was all I can share with you, I hope that our education system will be better and become a tool for change in this era. Thank You.
